The Teaching Portfolio of Hassan Nanai
MrNanai
A History teacher's complete programmes and classroom games, ready for Monday morning.
126 classroom units across nine subjects. Every one a full kit: slide deck, worksheets & lesson plans, unit outline, assessment task, and scope & sequence, mapped line by line to NSW syllabus outcomes.
The shelf. Nine subjects, History first. Pick one up.
The home subject
History is what I teach above all.
It is also the deepest shelf here: 291 planned lessons, more than any other subject in the library, running unbroken from a Year 7 student's first look at the ancient world to the HSC Modern History examination.
The resources
Every unit, every document, one click from your classroom.
Search it, or pick a subject. Each unit of work opens straight into Google Drive: presentation slides for the front of the room, a printable worksheets & lesson plans booklet (plus an editable copy), the unit outline, the assessment task with marking criteria, and a term by term scope & sequence.
Approach
Built the way software is built.
Before the classroom, I spent years shipping software. That discipline of structure, documentation, testing and versioning is in every unit here.
Mapped to the syllabus
Outcome codes, not vibes
Every unit names its NSW syllabus outcomes, from EN4-URA-01 to MA4-VOL-C-01, and carries a scope & sequence showing exactly where it sits in the teaching year.
Complete kits
Six documents per unit
Slide deck with teacher notes, worksheets & lesson-plan booklet in PDF and editable DOCX, unit outline, assessment task with marking criteria, and scope & sequence. Nothing left for Sunday night.
One classroom rhythm
Do Now to plenary, timed
Every lesson runs the same dependable structure: Do Now, direct instruction, guided practice, independent work, plenary. The timings are minute by minute, so a casual teacher could pick it up cold.
Differentiated by default
Support and extension built in
Each lesson plan ships with scaffolds for students who need support and extension pathways for those who race ahead, written into the plan, not bolted on.
About
Hassan Nanai
I am a History teacher first. It is the subject I have taught longest and built deepest: 29 units and 291 lessons, from the ancient world through to HSC Modern History. The other eight subjects here grew out of the same method, taught across more than seven years in thirteen NSW high schools, every kind of classroom, every kind of timetable. That breadth is why these materials work anywhere. They were built to be picked up by any teacher, in any school, and taught well on day one.
Before teaching, I completed three qualifications in software development and worked across seven programming languages, from Java, JavaScript and .NET to C++, C# and the web stack. I build curriculum the way I once shipped software: structured, documented, tested, and complete.
This portfolio is the result: a full secondary programme, from Year 7 Do Nows to HSC Modern History, written, formatted and syllabus mapped by one teacher who believes planning is the craft.
From the first Do Now
to the far horizon.
